Mar 02, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. AbitibiBowater has announced a 2-week shut down in Fort Frances, Ontario beginning on March 28. More than 500 employees will be affected by the shutdown of both the paper and pulp production, as ForestTalk reported. The temporary downtime impacts 8,400 metric tons of white paper production. Pulp and paper production is scheduled to resume on April 11. 230 employees at the mill are currently in the middle of a 2-week shutdown of the mill’s paper machines that began on February 21. Both temporary shutdowns are being blamed on poor market conditions.
