Wood internet marketplaces Fordaq.com and Houtbeurs.nl are planning to bundle their client bases. Fordaq will acquire Houtbeurs and will then operate an e-commerce platform which will combine all their services. The joint service will have some 1,700 customers, predominately in western Europe. Benoit Nieuwenhuys, Fordaq's managing director in Belgium, said that the merger was a logical step in the consolidation of European markets.
