In May 2020 Brazil's industrial production of furniture expanded 7% compared to April, reversing two consecutive months of declines (-9% in March and -19% in April). In contrast overall industrial production in May fell over 20%, the second highest drop since records were kept, as ITTO reported.
The May result, however, was not enough to overcome the accumulated decline in furniture production for the year to-date, which went from -18% to -22% from April to May.
