Danish timber wholesale group DLH acquires forest concession in Gabon
Apr 08, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Danish timber wholesale group Dalhoff Larsen & Horneman (DLH Group) said that it has agreed to acquire the Gabonese forest owner Compagnie Forestiere des Abeilles. Including the acquisition, DLH Group will invest a total of some DKK 40 million ($8.5 million) in Gabon over the next few years.
Apr 08, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Danish timber wholesale group Dalhoff Larsen & Horneman (DLH Group) said that it has agreed to acquire the Gabonese forest owner Compagnie Forestiere des Abeilles (CFA). CFA owns 200,000 hectares of forest concession in Gabon.
The acquisition is part of DLH Group's strategy to expand its operations in Gabon and the company intends to expand its existing sawmill and forest harvesting capacity in connection with the deal. The acquisition is expected to be completed within two months.
Including the acquisition, DLH Group will invest a total of some DKK 40 million ($8.5 million) in Gabon over the next few years. DLH Group's current assets in Gabon include 130,000 hectares of forest concession and sawmill and kiln-drying facilities in Port Gentil.
DLH Group, headquartered in Taastrup, Denmark, is an international timber merchant with sales operations in Europe, the US and the Far East. DLH completed in February the sale of its building materials division to the French group Saint-Gobain.
