Jun 09, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Finnish timber company Versowood Group has doubled its net sales since the early 1990s to about Euro 200 million and it now operates in 11 locations, according to Esmerk. In future, growth will be more moderate. Although the sawmill business now accounts for only half of Versowood's net sales, sawmills are still the company's basic business. According to the company, expanding product manufacture has been sensible as simple sawmill operations have been unprofitable in recent years. The significance of wooden packaging and the infra sector are expected to increase. One interesting line of expansion could be the construction industry.
Versowood carries on traditional timber production and makes timber components, laminated timber, planed timber, and weatherproofed columns as well as other impregnated products.
