In January-November 2009 Investlesprom affiliates harvested 1 million cub m of wood

Dec 09, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. By early December 2009, harvesting enterprises of Investlesprom holding in Karelia (Severnaya Lesozagotovitelnaya Kompaniya LLC and its affiliates, Muezerka forest enterprise OJSC, Lendera forest enterprise OJSC, and Kostomuksha forest enterprise) harvested and removed from the forest one million cubic meters of timber, as the holding’s press service informed Lesprom Network. Such an amount was approached only once in twenty years, the company says. In the next year Severnaya Lesozagotovitelnaya Kompaniya LLC is planning to increase harvesting to 1.25 million cubic meters. As chief executive of the company Dmitriy Rybalko says, apart from fundamental sources like investments and optimization of expenses, this result was approached also due to forest management partnership with Svedwood company in Kostomuksha and further integration within Investlesprom holding. In 2009, road and construction division of Severnaya Lesozagotovitelnaya Kompaniya LLC built and reconstructed over 200 kilometers of forest roads. In 2010, it is planned to exceed this result 1.5 times at the minimum. Having laid off 16% of the personnel, the company increased harvesting volume by 13% and labour efficiency by one third. In 2010, the enterprise is to go through transferring to outsourcing of auxiliary and servicing capacities. Reorganization and integration process of Severnaya Lesozagotovitelnaya Kompaniya LLC is performed with taking into account increasing partnership relations with Svedwood and Vapo Timber. It is reported that at the moment this partnership is becoming closer which gives perspectives and essential stability for the future of Kostomuksha, Muezerka and Lendera harvesting capacities. Apart from that, this partnership leads to new and more effective models of forest use and management which allows getting additional results for the whole Investlesprom group, like stabilization and growth of current and future raw wood deliveries to Segezha pulp and paper mill from side suppliers, as said in the report.
