JAF Group to close raw veneer plant in Braşov, Romania

Due to the challenging market situation relating to raw veneers, the JAF Group has decided to provisionally discontinue its production of raw veneers at the Group’s J.F.Furnir plant in the Romanian city of Braşov with effect from October.

The JAF Group’s decision is in response to the commercial challenges of the past few months. The General Management of the JAF Group nonetheless emphasises that the remaining business operations at the production site will continue without restriction.

The other production areas and sales activities will remain unaffected by the closure of the veneer production in October. The grading activities and splicing of veneers will also continue at J.F.Furnir. The extensive sales activities related to veneers at the trading centre in Braşov, as well as the main veneer hub in Salzburg-Aupoint and at the other national and international branches are an important mainstay of the JAF Group.

The JAF Group, known in Austria as J. u. A Frischeis, is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of timber and wood-based materials.
