Jul 10, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. Kai Korhonen, senior executive vice president, packaging boards and member of the executive management group (EMG), has chosen to retire and leave his duties at Stora Enso. He will relinquish his current duties by 31 August 2007, but will continue to undertake special assignments for CEO Jouko Karvinen until the end of 2007. Kai Korhonen's successor will be announced before the end of August. "Kai's early retirement is a loss for Stora Enso and me personally. On the other hand, after a thirty-year career in the paper industry at A. Ahlström Osakeyhtiö and Stora Enso, his retirement is well earned," said CEO Jouko Karvinen. Stora Enso is an integrated paper, packaging and forest products company, producing publication and fine paper, packaging board and wood products. Stora Enso’s sales totalled Euro 14.6 billion in 2006. The group has some 44 000 employees in more than 40 countries on five continents.
