Roseburg publishes environmental product declaration for Medford, Oregon, MDF products

Roseburg Forest Products has published its eighth certified Environmental Product Declaration, providing standardized and objective information about the lifecycle environmental impacts of the company’s wood products, and now including Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF).

Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) provide consumers with transparent, product-specific environmental information that has been independently validated. EPDs help purchasers better understand a product’s sustainable qualities and make more informed choices.

“UL congratulates Roseburg on their eighth EPD, which demonstrates their commitment to sustainability while showcasing their willingness to go above and beyond — all in the name of transparency and clarity,” said Alberto Uggetti, vice president and general manager of UL’s environment and sustainability division. “EPDs help their purchasers better understand a product's sustainable qualities and environmental impacts, empowering them to make more informed purchasing decisions.”

Roseburg MDF products manufactured in Medford, Ore., include no-added formaldehyde (NAF), moisture resistant and Class 1 (A) fire rated grades. This Roseburg MDF EPD covers the cradle-to-gate impacts (raw material acquisition and manufacturing) for all products made at the Medford, Ore., plant.

Founded in 1936, Roseburg Forest Products is a privately owned company and one of North America’s leading producers of particleboard, medium density fiberboard and thermally fused laminates. Roseburg also manufactures softwood and hardwood plywood, lumber, LVL and I-joists.
