The average price of softwood sawlogs has increased by 4.7% compared to the prior month, hardwood sawlog price increased by 2.6%. Softwood pulpwood prices rose by 4.1%, hardwood pulpwood prices decreased 0,3%.
May and June were not as rainy as in last year; however this is not contributed to an increase in timber harvesting in Russia. By mid-June formed timber inventories, and loggers are not in a hurry to increase the logging levels. Price increase in June led to lower activity of customers. This situation contributes to further reduce logging to achieve a balance of supply and demand.
