The database will be discussed by the delegations from the forest delegations of China and the Ministry of natural affairs of Russia that will be held on August, 15-19 2005 in During the meeting the delegates will discuss the rent of Russian forestries by Chinese companies for timber production. A total of 43 Russian-Chinese enterprises are operating in the timber sector producing 1.92 million cub m of timber. The Chinese investors have already invested $1 million in the Russian (Chita region, Khabarovsk krai and Amur region). In April 2005 another meeting was held by a Russian-Chinese working group to explore forest resources. During the meeting, the Chinese delegation expressed their readiness to build a pulp and paper enterprise with the capacity of 600 thousand tons in Chita region and another enterprise with the capacity 300 thousand tons in Khabarovsk krai. The Chinese and Russian companies signed memorandums on joint cooperation in Tomsk and Evreyskauya autonomous regions.
