The Federal Antimonopoly Service fined Timber Holding Company RUR 50 thousand for the failure to present a preliminary application to acquire an enterprise, FAS public-affairs reported. According to FAS, the company violated the law on the ‘competition and the limitation of monopolistic activity on the markets.’ Timber Holding Company applied to FAS with an application to acquire the rights to operate as a uniform executive organization – Kirovlesprom. The following agreement was signed on February, 4 2004 while FAS received the application as late as August, 9. Kirovlesprom assets exceed 200 minimum salaries index and the agreement to carry out the deal was to be regareded as a preliminary on before the deal was actually signed. In line with the article 19.8 of the Administrative violations code, FAS decided to fine Timber Holding Company 500 minimum salaries (RUR 50 thousand). The fine shall be paid within 30 days in accordance with the legislation.
