Skeena Sawmills’ mill and forest operations near Terrace, British Columbia, Canada, have earned certification to the globally respected and independent Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) standards.

“One of our core commitments is to consistently improve our sustainable forest practices,” said Teddy Cui, President and CEO of Skeena Sawmills. “Certification to the SFI and PEFC standards is proof that we are delivering on that promise and meeting the highest environmental, social and economic standards possible.”

Mr. Cui added that the certification is important to global customers and aligns with the company’s plans to invest $40 million and double capacity over the next few years.

Independent auditors from KPMG, an accredited certification body, recommended the certification after inspecting Skeena Sawmills’ planning, procedures and processes in its woodlands operations and its mill.
