Prices of Russian particleboard increased in October by 7% compared to previous months, while demand increased by 20%, Lesprom's analytical service reported in the monthly wood based panel prices survey. Average cost of 1 cubic metre of particleboard (sort 1, emission class 2) in October was 6555 rub. The cost of 1 cubic metre of first sort laminated particleboard in October was 11500 rub. There were an opportunity to buy the wood chipboard of first sort by 13950 rub, and MDF was cheaper on 870 rub. The leader of in October was wood chipboard, their demand increased by 30% in compare with previous month. Then MDF, laminated particleboard (+by 20%), particleboard (+ by 15%). At the end of month not every company which deals with selling was prepared to satisfy the orders from spot-market. In this is waiting for the growth of particleboard price in November by 5%. The positive influence of seasonal aspect will come down from November and this will entail the stunted growth of demand. From the point of view of single producers the threat of glut on chipboard market will save in November too. Such branch risks may be provoked by the price growth and increasing of the goods substitute share. On the whole the October of last year is characterized by the good market condition, stable positive demand and gently high prices.
