Feb 06, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Scottish independent papermaker Tullis Russell has added a second recycled brand to its range of paper and board. The new brand, an extension of its SBS coated board range Trucard, contains 50% virgin fibre and 50% post-consumer de-inked recycled fibre.
The virgin fibre is 100% ECF - sourced from sustainable, managed forests - and will soon be granted with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification to assure end users that the product does not contribute to the environmental harm. The de-inked recycled fibre is an AAA+ grade sourced from an FSC approved waste pulp mill, which has been confirmed as an acceptable source of recycled fibre by independent auditors.
Trucard Recycled is made to the same premium specification as Trucard, promising excellent bulk, superior gloss and surface smoothness to printers and designers looking to achieve ultimate results across card and packaging applications.
Gregor Milne, coated product manager at Tullis Russell, said: “Trucard Recycled will be targeted at the greetings card and publishing markets, two areas with an increasing demand for environmentally friendly products. By offering end users a new premium board which does not cause harm to the environment we are meeting market needs as well as increasing customer choice.”
Tullis Russell is a leading independent, wholly employee owned, papermaking and converting group. The group produces a wide range of high quality, engineered paper products, on four separate sites, for clients around the world.
