U.S. total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in April 2021 increased 4% compared to April 2020. They were up 1% when compared to the same four months of 2020, as the American Forest & Paper Association reported.
The operating rate was 95.1%, up 9.6 points from April 2020 and up 5.2 points year-to-date.
Mill inventories at the end of April increased 9,000 short tons from the previous month and were up 20,000 short tons compared to April 2020.
