Total U.S. packaging papers shipments in July 2018 were up 5.7% compared to July 2017 and up 1.3% year-to-date, as the American Forest & Paper Association reported.
Bag & sack shipments were up 2.5% year-to-date, multiwall shipments were down 0.9%, converting shipments were essentially flat and food wrapping shipments were up 3.1%.
The operating rate for July increased slightly from 95.8% in June to 95.9% in July. Inventories were up 1.7% since June.
