Uniboard invests $18 million to increase MDF production capacity at its Mont-Laurier plant in Canada

Uniboard announces an $18 million investment to further modernize and expand its plant at Mont Laurier in Canada.

Continuing on the theme of innovation, the new dryer configuration will use the state-of-the art technology and connect with Uniboard's innovative gas treatment system. The project leverages proprietary expertise in clean air technology and reduction of green-house gas emissions. This new process will significantly reduce the company's CO2 emissions, in addition to increasing the plant's production capacity.

''The upgrade to a new generation dryer will not only allow us to increase productivity but also to further the positioning of our plant as the leader in MDF in North America,'' underlines Sebastien Coté, plant director of Uniboard Mont-Laurier.

Uniboard Canada Inc. is a leading North American manufacturer of engineered wood products, having an installed capacity of over 660 million square feet of raw particleboard, high and medium-density fiberboard, of which over 50% is converted into value-added thermally fused laminates.
