Wood Taiwan 2018 draws 167 participating companies

Wood Taiwan 2018, co-organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Woodworking Machinery Association (TWMA) will be unveiled at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 from April 2 to 5. There will be a total 167 domestic and overseas exhibitors, using 1,076 booths. The exhibition scale has broken its record, with 3.5% increase compared to last edition. Wood Taiwan is not only the top one procurement platform of woodworking machinery in Taiwan, but also a professional trade show with state-of-the-art woodworking machinery and technology in Asia.

Many domestic indicating companies of this show include Leadermac, Carpenter, Anderson, Jun Shiau, Kuang Yung, Cheng Kuang, OAV, Innovator, Tai Chan, Gau Jing, Yow Cherng, Boarke, and Chuan Chier, joined by world famous brands such as Biesse, Bacci, SCM, Woodmizer, Schneider and others from Italy, German, France, United States, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea etc. All exhibitors bring forth their latest machines and equipment to participate in this triennial event, showing that Wood Taiwan has become an international trade show attracting woodworking machinery enterprises worldwide. Taiwan has been the 4th largest woodworking machinery export country in the world. The total export value of woodworking machinery reached US$596 million in 2017, which represented a 14% growth from the year before. This shows that Taiwan’s woodworking machinery industry has a solid strength and bright prospect.

Nowadays, the woodworking machinery is no longer traditional processing machinery. As technology advances, woodworking machinery is now integrated with automatic equipment, sensor, controller and ICT technology which lead to the era of Industry 4.0.
Many exhibitors focus on the concept of Industrial 4.0 and smart manufacturing to develop CNC (computer numerical control) processing machinery and machines that are high speed, automatic, compound and intelligent to satisfy the needs of wood processing and furniture manufactures. Machinery showcased in Wood Taiwan 2018 will fulfill market demands for cost reduction, production efficiency, customization, and diversification. In addition, the Centre of Woodwork Technology and Innovation will present various innovative woodwork designs showcasing its profound handcraft and advanced processing technology.

To fully support exhibitors in expanding businesses, TAITRA has mobilized its overseas offices to invite overseas buyers from Italy, Germany, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Canada, Egypt, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and China, etc. to Taiwan to visit the show. It is expected to generate a great  deal of business prospects and opportunities.In addition to rich exhibition content, the organizers especially invite executive officers from Germany’s HOMAG and Siemens and Australia and New Zealand ‘s XLam and industrial experts to share the latest trends in “green building” and “smart machinery and future factory” in the Forum held on April 4 at Room 401.
