Bio PAPPEL, S.A.B. de C.V. announced its unaudited consolidated results for the 3Q 2014. During 3Q 2014 net sales increased by 1.1%, as a result of a decrease of 3.1% in the Paper Segment and an increase of 4.8% in the Packaging and Converting Segment.

Bio PAPPEL reports 1.1% sales increase in 3Q

Oct 30, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. Bio PAPPEL, S.A.B. de C.V. announced its unaudited consolidated results for the 3Q 2014. During 3Q 2014 net sales increased by 1.1%, as a result of a decrease of 3.1% in the Paper Segment and an increase of 4.8% in the Packaging and Converting Segment. Accumulated net sales for the first three quarters of 2014 were higher by 2.8%, resulting from an increase of 1% in the Paper Segment and a 4.4% increase in the Packaging and Converting Segment, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

On a quarterly basis, shipments increase by 2.6% when compared to 3Q 2013, and when compare on an accrued basis versus last year’s same period an increase of 1.4% on a consolidated basis.

The Company achieved an EBITDA of $35.4 million compared to $33.7 million in a year-ago quarter, representing a 5.1% increase, due mainly to its lower Unit Cost.

On an accrued basis, EBITDA accomplished $113.8 million in the first nine months of 2014 compared to $108 million in the prior year. The aforementioned represents a 5.3% increase due to higher Prices.

Commenting on the Company’s results and outlook, Miguel Rincon, Bio PAPPEL’s Chairman and CEO, said: “Our strategy to grow and optimize our business continues to gain traction in the quarter as consolidated sales and earnings reached greater levels driven by strong sales volume, mill cost reductions, lower costs and higher margins that resulted in a positive price/cost relationship”.
