China's share in New Zealand log exports increases by 10 pp in past 12 months

China's share in exports of logs from New Zealand increased by 10 pp to 83.9% in past 12 months, according to Statistics New Zealand data. In April 2018, New Zealand has increased log exports to China by 18.2% YoY to 1.50 million m3 with average price of NZ$161 per m3. The log exports to Korea have fallen by 40.8% to 143.8 thousand m3 (average price NZ$152), and to India have decreased 56.7% to 72.8 thousand m3 (NZ$149). The wood supplies from New Zealand to Japan dropped 14.6% to 39.6 thousand m3 (NZ$160). In April 2018, total log exports from New Zealand increased 2.9% compared to April 2017 to 1.79 million m3. The average price of log exports grew by 4.0% YoY to $NZ161.
