For the SYLVA site in Poland, PIVETEAU decided that Holtec should supply the new log yard based on the positive experience they made with Holtec at the FARGES-Egletons site. In close cooperation with the customer a completely new log yard has been designed and supplied. The combined system can process long logs as well as short logs.
All logs are fed to a butt-reducer, debarked and measured. The short logs are cut to length by a circular saw while being forwarded on a cross conveyor. For the long logs, this saw provides the first cut. In a next step the long logs are cut to length by means of the tried and tested Holtec band saw line technology based on the measurement and optimization data by the JÖRG ELEKTRONIK 3D measurement.
The system is designed for a capacity of approximately 200,000 solid cubic meter annually. Only after 3 months of installation the system could start operation in time.
PIVETEAU Bois is one of the leading saw mills in France with an annual cutting capacity of 800,000 solid cubic meter logs and a production of 200,000 tons of pellets at three sites.
