Honkarakenne's net sales in the first half of the year saw significant year-on-year growth, amounting to Euro 17.9 million, up 24% on the previous year, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Operating result improved by Euro 2 million to Euro –0.1 million. At the end of June, the order book was 30% higher than a year earlier. The adjusted operating loss for the January-June period was Euro -0.2 million, the operating loss was Euro -0.1 million and the result before taxes was Euro -0.1 million.

Marko Saarelainen, President and CEO of Honkarakenne Oyj, said: ”We succeeded in increasing net sales in all business areas. Net sales were substantially better than in the corresponding period of the previous year. The bulk of net sales growth is generated by Finland and Asia. Finland accounted for 63% of net sales.

“Operations in Russia were difficult in the first months of the year, but sales picked up slightly during the 2Q. However, we expect that this will be a difficult year in the Russian market. In Global Markets, we were particularly delighted by our performance in Asia, where the sales trend was positive. Project sales also picked up momentum towards the end of the period. Central Europe was a disappointment.”

Under its Honka® brand, Honkarakenne manufactures high-quality, healthy and ecological detached houses, holiday homes and public buildings using Finnish solid wood.
