Mondi Syktyvkar to stop production for 10 days in August for maintenance

Aug 02, 2013. /Lesprom Network/. Mondi Syktyvkar (Russian subsidiary of Mondi Group) will stop production from 5 to 15 August to carry out repairs of technological equipment, the company said in statement. 

"Production shutdown is carried out to equipment maintenance and guarantees a stable, safe and efficient operation in the future," - said Jorma Turpeinen, CEO of Mondi Syktyvkar.

Repair work will be carried out in the digester-bleaching workshop, liquor recovery and lime production workshops, wood yard, as well as some paper-making machines. At the plant it is also involve in improving the system of collection and flaring of gases which smell.

A large amount of work is scheduled for the sodoregenerating boiler, which provides the entire production. Operating conditions of the boiler require carrying out inspection each year and repairs for a period of at least ten days.

Paper-making machines №11,14 and 15 it will continue to work on imported pulp during the shutdown.

The works will involve more than 1300 people from the maintenance personnel of Mondi and contracting companies.
