Jun 14, 2012. /Lesprom Network/. Suzano Pulp and Paper is actively participating at the event with executives and products; the Rio+20, United Nations Conference being held from June 13 through 22, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
Some Suzano Officers and Managers will take part in the discussions of seven important events alongside Bracelpa (Brazilian Pulp and Paper Association), FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) and CNI (Brazilian Association of Industries) representatives, academia and presidents of signatory companies of the Global Pact.
Among the topics that will be addressed by the forums, many are related to your industry, such as how forests contribution to sustainable development, the importance of the ISO international standards to improve a green economy etc. Other representative fronts in which Suzano will have an active role are the valuation of forestry carbon and biotechnology.
And yet in terms of products, Suzano is the official paper supplier of the Rio+20. The items chosen for the Conference are Suzano Report® 360° (or Suzano Report® Carbon Neutral, name used in the foreign market) and Alta Alvura®. These products have had their carbon footprint calculated and received the Carbon Reduction Label (granted by Carbon Trust) and it is 100% offset through the purchase of carbon credits. Approximately 750,000 sheets of Suzano Report® 360° are available at the printing stations at the Riocentro Convention Center and 50,000 notepads printed on Alta Alvura® will be distributed to participants.
