VIDA acquires Harry Nilsson AB (HN AB) in Hästveda och and will thereby strengthen its position on the Dutch market, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. Harry Nilsson AB is a family owned sawmill which has been in its possession since the 40´s when the sawmill was founded. The sawmill is since 1985 run by the son Jörgen Nilsson. The sawmill produces approx. 100, 000 cubic metres per year and has a turnover of SEK 175 million and approx 40 employees. The sawmill has a high level of refinement and produces mainly structural timber for the Dutch market. HN AB is also a partowner of Skånetimmer which is a timber- and bioenergy company with 15 employees. Skånetimmer suplies HN AB with rawmaterial to 90 %. “We see the acquisition as a possibility to strengthen us further more on the Dutch market at the same time as HN AB's assortment serves as a complement to ours. The sawmill is very well invested and the management and personnel has a very good sawmill culture which is very positive,” says Santhe Dahl, CEO of the VIDA group. VIDA AB is Sweden's largest privately owned sawmill company. Production is primarily focused on structural timber for a large assortment of different markets. Around 85% of production is exported to Europe, the USA and Asia. Sales of sawn wood products are via a sales company, VIDA Wood.
