The National Association of Forest Industries has voiced its concern over VicForests’ intention to hit Victoria’s timber industry with higher log prices of between 12.4 % and 22.4% starting from July 1 this year. VicForests, a state government body, appears to be defying all logic in setting the higher prices, given the softening of the building industry in recent months.
