Shortly after the Great War, Paolo Fravega (“Paulin” to his fellow villagers) founded the company Fravega srl in Borghetto Borbera, located in the green hills between the provinces of Alessandria and Genoa. The company initially focused on furniture construction and woodworking services related to homes. His sons Orlando and Angelo expanded the family business by establishing a sawmill, which remains the company's core, extending services to local businesses. After Orlando's premature death, his son Italo took over, forming a new company and eventually continuing the business alone. Italo's son Orlando (Dino) joined the company in 1986 while still a university student and became sole administrator in 1995 after his father's passing. Today, Fravega srl operates two production facilities covering a total area of 25,000 square meters, including 5,000 square meters of covered space, employs over 20 people across production, administrative, and commercial roles, and continues to expand, recently installing new sawmill equipment for primary wood processing. The company also emphasizes environmental sustainability, achieving near-complete energy self-sufficiency through a modern photovoltaic system.
