Chugoku Lumber Co. links North America, the production area for Douglas fir, directly to its own mills via large log carriers and manufactures residential structural lumber: dried Douglas fir 'Dry Beam', Douglas fir glulam 'Lamina Beam', and a mixed-species glulam 'Hybrid Beam' combining domestic sugi (Japanese cedar) and Douglas fir. The company supplies these products nationwide through a logistics network enabling immediate delivery. It also performs 'precut' processing—pre-machining of structural joints—based on housing plans. With an integrated manufacturing-to-logistics system, the company supports residential construction. Following the UN's adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, Chugoku Lumber Co. pursues initiatives to address the social and environmental challenges indicated by the SDGs and aims to contribute to their achievement.
