Pfleiderer orders ClassiFormers™ from Metso

Feb 25, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Metso Panelboard will deliver ClassiFormer™ SF surface forming machines to OOO Pfleiderer particleboard plant in Novgorod, Russia. Pfleiderer will receive new-generation surface forming machines that are specially designed for making super fine surface. The new surface forming machines will replace the existing wind forming machines. Metso doesn't disclose the value of order. The delivery takes place in May 2005 and new machines are in production by the end of summer 2005. Metso Panelboard will also make the process automation for the whole forming area including new surface forming machines and existing core forming machines. This is the second new-generation ClassiFormer™ surface forming machine order from Pfleiderer group within the last year. The previous delivery was to Pfleiderer plant in Grajewo, Poland, in summer 2004. "Metso Panelboard has an excellent forming machine for making good particleboard surface. ClassiFormer™ has proven its capabilities already in our plant in Grajewo, Poland. We have good experience from the fast start-up and excellent surface quality from there. Therefore ClassiFormer™ for the surface machine was a natural choice for us also in Novgorod, when we decided to improve the surface quality," says Rainer Stracke, director of Pfleiderer activities in Poland and Russia. The ClassiFormer™ SF has been designed to improve the surface quality and lower the surface layer thickness. An additional top roller bed in the ClassiFormer™ SF model offers significant benefits by improving the economy and efficiency of further process stages, such as sanding, painting or laminating. The unique Unifeed™ rollers in the end of the roller bed make ClassiFormer™ SF suitable for plants using recycled of annual plant raw materials, and also increase forming capacity.
