SCG Paper Public Company Limited, a subsidiary of Siam Cement Public
Company Limited, has registered its name change. Effective June 2, 2015, the official name becomes
“SCG Packaging Public Company Limited” while “SCG Packaging” will be the
branded business name, as the company says in the press release received by
Lesprom Network.
This name change
reflects the company’s strategic focus towards packaging products and applications,
with the aim of providing total and sustainable packaging solutions for its customers.
Key examples are the continued development of high-quality packaging products and
services, which includes non-paper based flexible packaging products.
The name change is
also aligned with the company’s drive to expand its packaging business in ASEAN
countries. In FY 2014, the packaging chain accounted for the majority of the
SCG Paper’s sales and EBITDA at 72% and 79%, respectively.
