US LBM acquired Builders Supply Company in Lancaster, S.C., adding a distributor that serves the greater Charlotte market and expanding its presence in the Carolinas, US LBM announced.

Builders Supply Company offers lumber and millwork inventory that it describes as one of the largest in the Carolinas, with products ranging from framing material and engineered wood to window and door distribution and install services.

US LBM Southeast Regional Vice President John Merritt said the acquisition targets the national production builder segment in the Charlotte market and adds full-line product distribution and turnkey specialty solutions.

Greg Gregory will continue to run day-to-day operations. He said Builders Supply Company has been in his family for four generations.

US LBM President and CEO L.T. Gibson said production builder activity is growing south and west of Charlotte and that the company sees an opportunity to extend its reach into Columbia, S.C., which it described as a “white space” market.

LBM-Network’s Jim Enter served as the advisor to Builders Supply Company of Lancaster during the transaction.
