Pioneer Forest is a demonstration forest located in the Missouri Ozarks, founded in 1951 by Leo Drey. The company focuses on sustainable timber management and conservation, restoring degraded land while maintaining regular timber harvests. Under Drey's management, the timber volume per acre has significantly increased, and the area supports both wildlife habitat and recreational opportunities. In 2004, Pioneer Forest was donated to the L-A-D Foundation to ensure its continued sustainable operation.
