·         Russia has continued to increase the volume and value of softwood lumber export. However, the 1Q of 2013 was seasonally weaker than the Q4 of 2012. But from January to March the deliveries were rising consistently.

·         In March of 2013 the average export growth has stopped, observed since autumn last year. In the last month of the quarter the price decreased by 6.5% compared to the price peak in February to the level of November of 2012.

·         China is still the leader in terms of softwood lumber export from Russia, in the Q1 of 2013 deliveries in the country increased as well as in Egypt - the second country in terms of export. But in February, Uzbekistan caught up with Egypt, and in March this country even outruns Egypt.

·         The highest average price in the Q1 of 2013 was for lumber supplied to Japan, however, the share of the country in Russian export accounted for only 6%.
