C&D Lumber Co. has announced its closure, ending its operation that began in 1890 in Coos County, Oregon. The company, known for producing Douglas Fir and Cedar products, faced insurmountable market pressures, increased costs, and supply issues, leading to the decision to shut down.

The family-owned business, which has been part of the community for six generations, thanked its employees and the community for their support over the years. Despite the closure, the Johnson Family plans to continue their involvement in local initiatives through Silver Butte Timber.

C&D Lumber is in the process of winding down operations, focusing on supporting its employees during the transition and ensuring all business affairs are concluded responsibly.
