Canada's lumber production rose 6.8% from July to 5 553.0 thousand cubic metres of lumber in August. Production was 3.4% lower than in August 2016, as Statistics Canada said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
Sawmills shipped 5 588.8 thousand cubic metres of lumber in August, up 2.4% from July but 2.5% lower than in August 2016.
