Danzer re-opened its facility in Souvans, France

After 17 months of conversion, hardwood specialist Danzer re-opened its location in Souvans, France. By investing Euro 13 million in the site, Danzer responds to the ever-increasing demand for sliced wear layers in engineered hardwood flooring. From the beginning of 2018, the full capacity of about 20,000 cubic metres log volume will be processed in Souvans resource efficiently, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Danzer CEO Hans-Joachim Danzer said: “In recent years, the global demand for engineered hardwood flooring has increased steadily – a trend that will continue. We have installed a new energy-saving boiler, our proprietary high-precision Danzer VS4000 veneer slicer and adequate drying kilns. Previous to the conversion, Souvans was exclusively producing veneer – now it is also a specialized production site for flooring deck layers. In spring 2017, we started a first test production; in the beginning of 2018 we expect to reach full capacity.”

Danzer is a leading quality hardwood company with production facilities in North America and Europe.
