The Egger Group acquires 60% of shares in the recycling company Cartfer Urbania S.r.l. It is based in Urbania, Italy, in the Marche region, at the heart of the Italian furniture industry. This represents a further addition to the international network of recycling collection sites that the wood-based material manufacturer operates under the name Egger Timberpak. This investment lays the foundation for the first recycling collection site in Italy. With the expansion of the Group-wide collection infrastructure and recycled wood processing, Egger is pursuing its strategic goals of further increasing the proportion of wood used from recycling and securing the supply of raw materials with backward integration.

Sara Burani, the previous owner of Cartfer Urbania S.r.l., will remain part of the company management. The experienced team of 8 employees will be taken over. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price and further details of the transaction.

Cartfer Urbania has been a specialised recycling company since 2017. For more than five years, it has also been a reliable supplier to the Italian wood-based material manufacturer SAIB in Caorso, which has been part of the Egger Group since December 2022. This successful collaboration is now undergoing further intensification. The Cartfer Urbania site also offers scope for future expansion investments.

Egger is the family company, founded in 1961, is a leading international manufacturer of wood-based materials with more than 11,000 employees and 22 production locations worldwide.
