Japan’s April wooden door imports dropped 17% compared to a month earlier and were down around 8% year-on-year, as ITTO reported.
The volatility in monthly door imports is unusual and cannot be explained by either currency fluctuations or housing start trends.
At 58% of all wooden door imports in April, China was the main supplier followed by the Philippines (15%), Malaysia (12%) and Indonesia (8%).
