Midwest Converting earns Chain-of-Custody Certification under FSC and SFI

Midwest Converting successfully completed its Chain-of-Custody audit. The Bedford Park, Illinois-based paper converting company is now certified under the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), as PaperAge reported.

As a toll converter, Midwest Converting traditionally uses converting agreements with their customers that sell FSC and SFI paper and board products. Midwest Converting has also implemented a Food Quality Safety Management System and supporting infrastructure.

Midwest's program encompasses Good Manufacturing practices (GMP's), Good Hygiene Practices (GHP's), Traceability Procedure, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Plan (HACCP), and Pre-requisite programs to address areas of perceived risk (SSOP's).

Midwest Converting has the capability to convert any grade or type of paper, from 10# bag paper to 34pt board stock. The company also provides warehousing and distribution services.
