Mr. Chen Kefu has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) Limited with effect from 21 August 2018.
Mr. Chen entered into an appointment letter for a term of 1 year with the Company and pursuant to the Company’s bye-laws, Mr. Chen will hold office only until the next following annual general meeting of the Company and shall then be eligible for re-election at such meeting. Thereafter, he will be subject to retirement by rotation and re-election in accordance with the Company’s bye-laws.
Mr. Chen, aged 75, graduated from the Mathematics Department of Fudan University majoring in Mechanics in 1967. He was promoted to Professor by Tianjin Municipal Commission Science and Technology in 1991 and was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2003.
Mr. Chen has served South China University of Technology in PRC since December 1992, and is currently the Director of the Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering of South China University of Technology and Professor of School of Light Industry Science and Engineering. Mr. Chen has devoted himself to the research and teaching of light industry, pulp and paper engineering for a long time, won various national science and technology awards, and has made contribution to the paper industry.
