TLC 2024 allows cutting discs with diameters of 1,000, 1,100 or 1,200 mm to be mounted, thus processing logs up to 47 cm in diameter. In addition, the new version of the TLC includes an extended feeding conveyor to 60 cm to bring material to the cutting station.

Pezzolato S.p.A. will present the updated version of the TLC at the Agriumbria trade fair in Italy in early April, and then at the KWF in Germany in the second half of June 2023.

The new TLC maintains its strengths unchanged, such as its versatility in operating both “log to log” and “mixed” bundles of wood; the cutting unit, with a side disc saw that can reduce power consumption, conveys sawdust naturally and without dispersion, allows good access to the log after cutting, and provides better visibility by the single operator; the presence of a hydraulic pusher, which is essential for advancing the material to the cutting station and accurately calculating the size of the log (or bundle) in order to minimize any waste.

There are, however, some important innovations, as a result of incessant collection of feedbacks from customers, investment in research and development and integration of increasingly high-performance hydraulic and electrical technologies.

The extended feeding conveyor enables optimized machine loading when processing single logs, mixed wood or large bundles of smaller logs. This is a increasingly appreciated solution by firewood producers, who have to deal with frequent changes in the diameter of incoming material.

The hydraulic translator for moving cut logs to the splitting station. This solution, which was previously powered by compressed air, reduces investment and energy consumption for the end user and eliminates any air temperature-related slowdowns in the event of large temperature fluctuations.
