U.S. containerboard production in August 2016 was 0.2% higher compared to August 2015. The month-over-month average daily production compared to July 2016 was 2% higher, as the American Forest & Paper Association reported.
The containerboard operating rate for August increased to 96.4% while the year-to-date operating rate of 94.7% was 1.5 percentage points lower compared to year-to-date 2015.
