Lumber production by Canadian sawmills decreased 2% from April to 5 763.4 thousand cubic metres in May 2016. Compared with May 2015, lumber production rose 8.2%, Statistics Canada reported.
Sawmills shipped 5 787.6 thousand cubic metres of lumber in May, up 2.4% from April. Shipments rose 6% compared with May 2015.
