KaMin LLC announces CADAM S.A. restructure

Jul 05, 2012. /Lesprom Network/. Effective July 2, 2012, CADAM S.A., a leading producer of fine particle kaolin to the global paper market, restructures its operations in Brazil, as the company reported in the press release received by Lesprom Network. CADAM's restructuring will realign the production at the facility with the decreased demand for kaolin, which has been negatively impacted by the decline in fine printing and writing paper end-use segments. These segments have declined in large part due to the increase in electronic media. This restructuring will right-size CADAM’s operations in order to create a long-term sustainable business model. This restructuring will lead to a reduction in workforce and will enable CADAM to streamline operations so it can flex its resources to match its demand, the company said. Ernest Gay, CADAM's General Manager, states "This was a difficult decision, but one that is needed in order for CADAM to continue to supply high quality clay to our customers while maintaining a long-term sustainable business model." KaMin LLC is a leading producer of kaolin to a global customer base from its operations in Georgia. CADAM S.A. is a leading producer of fine particle kaolin with operations located in the Amazon region of Brazil. KaMin LLC purchased a majority ownership position in CADAM in May 2012.
