Metsäliitto Cooperative, the parent company of Metsä Group, has signed a Euro 75 million loan agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB). The loan relates to the financing of Metsä Fibre Corporation’s Äänekoski bioproduct mill project.

Jun 12, 2015. /Lesprom Network/. Metsäliitto Cooperative, the parent company of Metsä Group, has signed a Euro 75 million loan agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB). The loan relates to the financing of Metsä Fibre Corporation’s Äänekoski bioproduct mill project, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

The loan is amortizing with equal instalments, final repayment date being 9 years from the signing date. The loan will be submitted for backing by the EU budget guarantee under the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI). The European Commission and the EIB will deploy the Investment Plan for Europe via the EFSI.

Metsä Group focuses on tissue and cooking papers, fresh forest fibre paperboards, pulp, wood products, and wood supply and forest services.
