Pro Build acquires Jasper Lumber

The acquisition includes a lumber yard, truss and millwork manufacturing facility and a lumber distribution business. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. In November, 2007, ProBuild bought HD Supply’s Lumber and Building Material business which operates as Williams Brothers Lumber in Atlanta. Jasper Lumber is comprised of a lumber yard, truss and millwork manufacturing facility located in Kennesaw and a lumber distribution business located in Cumming. Both facilities have built a solid reputation for having strong management and exceptional service to area builders and contractors. “Jasper Lumber is an outstanding, well-run operation,” said Jim Cavanaugh, ProBuild South region president. “This acquisition, along with the previously announced acquisition of HD Supply’s LBM operation, positions us well to serve all segments of the Atlanta market.” Over the past year, ProBuild pursued a very aggressive acquisition strategy that has yielded 12 purchases, broadening its national network of distribution and manufacturing facilities. ProBuild Holdings is the nation’s largest supplier of building materials to professional contractors. ProBuild currently operates more than 520 lumber and building product distribution, manufacturing and assembly centers in 41 U.S. states.
