Rayonier opens lands to general public access

Oct 12, 2012. /Lesprom Network/. Recent rains have allowed Rayonier to re-open their Western Washington lands to general public access effective immediately. Rayonier owns 390,000 acres of timberlands in Grays Harbor, Pacific, Wahkiakum, Jefferson, Lewis and Clallam Counties, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network. "We appreciate the public's support in helping us prevent a serious forest fire during the dry weather," said Eduardo Hernandez, Rayonier's Pacific Resource Unit Leader. "We ask that folks returning to the forest follow signage designating areas closed to the general public and the Red Dot/Green Dot system controlling motorized access. While on the property, drive carefully, wear hunter orange and always practice safe gun handling." Rayonier is a leading international forest products company with three core businesses: Forest Resources, Real Estate and Performance Fibers. The company owns, leases or manages 2.7 million acres of timber and land in the United States and New Zealand.
