The Rougier Africa International branch recorded Euro 31.8 million in revenues for the quarter, up 17.6% compared with a 1Q 2014 that was the lowest for the year. Business has benefited from the significant increase in shipments from Cameroon and Congo, with Douala Port returning to its usual levels of shipments. In Gabon, sales are down from the previous year.
Rougier Sylvaco Panneaux generated Euro 8.1 million in revenues for the quarter, with 5.1% growth versus the 1Q 2014. Considering the persistently weak construction markets in France, this figure reflects a good commercial performance, consolidated by the stronger competitive positioning of the products offered.
Sawn timber sales show 16.7% growth compared with the previous year. This dynamic development has been supported by the level of shipments from Douala and the good level of average sales prices. Alongside this, sales based on products sourced from outside the Group have made a growing contribution.
Log sales are up 35.7%, driven by the high level of shipments from Cameroon.
Plywood sales, down 3% from the previous year, have continued to be affected by an unfavorable environment in European markets.
