Toby Lewis has been appointed Head of Sales – Merchant Services, based at SCA’s Welshpool operation. Simon Thurman has been promoted to the position of Group Procurement Manager with responsibility for coordinating purchasing activities across SCA’s 3 business streams.

SCA Timber Supply UK announces new appointments

Oct 30, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. The growth of SCA Timber Supply UK has resulted in new appointments to strengthen the company’s management and business development teams. Toby Lewis has been appointed Head of Sales – Merchant Services, based at SCA’s Welshpool operation, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Toby, who has held a number of senior national sales & marketing positions, most recently with Danzer and Kronospan, will be responsible for leading the Merchant Services Business Development team and will also manage relationships with Buying Consortia.

Simon Thurman has been promoted to the position of Group Procurement Manager with responsibility for coordinating purchasing activities across SCA’s 3 business streams. Simon has a strong timber and sourcing background having worked in the sector for many years, has held several positions within SCA and has good knowledge of UK and Swedish Mill operations in addition to his valuable experience of timber processing.

Ken Reidy joins SCA as Account Manager for Wickes. Ken joins the SCA Distribution Solutions operation based in Stoke having previously worked for Metsa Wood UK where he held a number of positions, the most recent being Head of Product & Business Development.

Ted Osborn joins the Merchant Services Team as Business Development Manager covering the south of the UK. Ted has a strong background servicing the industry and joins SCA from Arnold Lavers.

SCA Timber Supply UK comprises of three business streams located at Stoke, Welshpool and Melton with combined manufacturing capability of 140,000 cubic metres and 15,000 cubic metres timber treatment facilities supplying a range of timber and associated products to the UK’s Home Improvement and building materials sectors.
